Stefan Kuntz (born birth date|1962|10|30 in Neunkirchen, Saarland) is a former German professional footballer and since April 2008 chairman of the German football team 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Kuntz's playing career lasted from 1983 until 1999, he made 449 appearances and scored 179 goals in the Bundesliga. He played for VfL Bochum, KFC Uerdingen 05, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Arminia Bielefeld. He also played in Turkey for Beşiktaş J.K.. In 1986 and 1994 he was also the top scorer in the Bundesliga.

Kuntz played for the German national team between 1993 and 1997 and was part of the winning German team of UEFA Euro 1996. He made a particularly memorable performance in the 1-1 draw with England in the semi-final scoring the crucial equalizer. He was mocked in England (notably on Frank Skinner and David Baddiel's TV show and in the video to the 1998 version of Three Lions) because of the similarity of his surname to the word cunts.

Kuntz was also part of the German team that participated in the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the USA. In his international career, he obtained 25 caps, scoring 6 times. None of these caps ended in a defeat for Germany (20 wins and 5 draws), which is the German record for most caps without defeat.

Kuntz's father, Günter Kuntz, played for Borussia Neunkirchen between 1964 and 1968.

From 2006 to 2008, he was the sporting director of VfL Bochum.
