Kazakhstan . It is located at around coord|50|26|23|N|68|54|0|E. It has an area of 1,382 km², average depth of 2.5 m and maximum depth of 6.7 m. Lake Tengiz is an important wetland site forbirds . It is designated a Ramsar wetland site of international importance. 295 species of birds have been recorded at Lake Tengiz, 22 of which are endangered.
