Cargoitalia is a cargo airline based in Milan, Italy. It operates all-cargo scheduled and charter services from Italy to Asia, North America, and Africa. Its main base is Malpensa International Airport, Milancite news | title= Directory: World Airlines | work= Flight International | page= 61 | date= 2007-04-03] .

History

The airline was established in 2005 and is the first cargo airline to operate from Italy with private and Italian capital. The carrier’s founder and chief executive is Massimo Panagia who was a former mananging director for Alitalia Cargo. The company’s major shareholder is Air Logistic Holding and Syntek Capital. Operations began with a twice-weekly service from Milan to Delhi and Chennai. In September 2006 the United States Department of Transportation granted permission for scheduled and charter services from Milan to Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and New York. There are also plans to add three McDonnell Douglas MD-11F aircraft to the fleet. The airline is owned by Air Logistic Holding (59.8%) and Tristar (40.2%).
