Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives

Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives

The Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives is the presiding officer of the lower house of Congress, the House of Representatives.

The current Speaker is Prospero Nograles, a representative from Davao City.

The Speaker is the fourth and last in line in succession for the presidency, after the President of the Senate of the Philippines, Vice President of the Philippines, and President of the Philippines.

When the office of the Speaker is vacant (usually at the beginning of a new Congress), the Secretary-General of the House sits as the Speaker until a person is elected.
