Trencianske Jastrabie/SlovakiaThis ghetto is located in the west of Slovakia. This rural community is mainly of white population and descent. This Area is known for throwing shoes on telephone wires as a symbol to show others that a god exists and hes in the sky above.Jastrabie,in the english language means the village or valley of hawks. The name was givin in the late 1700s,hence the hawks that used to fly free in the Inovec Mountains.Jastrabie,or the village of hawks has a very high criminal rate, many methamphetamine labs were discovered and later demolished by the police of the Trencin county.A lot of the violence and drug use is situated on the train station, where all the trash is blown, known from the sayings used by the local people. The neighboring village of Dvorec is also known for such crimes and treasons, such as drug smuggling and prostitution.Mitice, which is a chain of three villages,is just across the crossroads of Jastrabie, and these two areas are always seen fighting against each other.Mitice are known for supplying the city and suburbs with weapons and other illegal products. This area is known for its uprisings against the city and its view on the area. The marijuana plantations that use to grow in large numbers had the inhabitants, including little children "running around high",they say that thats the only escape next to drinking alcohol or even aftershaves, such as barbus or pitralon. The area is known for the notorious gang M.O.N.,which is believed to be the abreviation for "Middle Of Nowhere",due to the location in which this "ghost town" is situated. There are many communistic buildings but thats still a sad reality in this eastern european country.Even though Slovakia or the Slovak Republic is in the European Union, the harsh truth is that no funds or any source of help for the region was not ever supplied. All though,in another perspective, through all the drug smuggling and unorganized crime, various forms of street art were formed here, such as rap and "tags" all over the unfortunete and poverty stricken ghetto.
